The Biggest Infrastructure Investment in 50 Years
mStreet Fiber Indiana’s open-access fiber network is designed to bring future-enabling broadband to Bloomington, Columbus, Shelbyville & rural Bartholomew County.
A Network Built for Indiana
Most fiber networks lock customers into a single provider. mStreet Fiber is structured differently. Because our network is open access, multiple ISPs compete for customers on the same network, offering Hoosiers the benefit of competition and choice.
That same commitment extends to who our network reaches. mStreet Fiber is built to serve neighborhoods of every income level and household type. The fiber infrastructure we’re building today can positive shape what’s possible for Indiana families, no matter what a family earns – today and decades in the future.
First. Among Equals
When a new network comes to town, lower-income residents typically wait at the back of the line while new technologies deploy to affluent neighborhoods first. mStreet Fiber Indiana and the City of Bloomington built their partnership differently — connecting Bloomington Housing Authority (BHA) communities at the earliest stages of the fiber network build, so that income level would not be a reason to wait.
mStreet Fiber Indiana and GigabitNow brought fiber broadband to the neighborhoods of Crestmont, Reverend Butler and Walnut Woods. Qualifying residents access high-speed fiber internet at a price that makes it genuinely reachable. No contract. No equipment fees. Live customer support around the clock. Digital literacy classes at the Lindsey A. Smith Community Center give BHA residents the skills to make full use of the network they now have — free of charge, taught by BHA resident volunteers.
What to Expect During Construction
When mStreet Fiber arrives in a neighborhood, it means one of the largest private investments in the community history has reached your neighborhood. Construction is the first step in making connectivity real — and mStreet Fiber is committed to making the process smooth, transparent, and respectful of the community.
